Old People meandering around Europe by train & ferry

To Zilina

We were up, breakfasted and out by ten o'clock as planned.
The rack-railway train took us down to Strbe where we sat in the sun waiting for the train to Žilina.

It was about 90 minutes through lovely scenery to get to our destination.
Žilina station is being modernised, but the lifts aren't built yet and of course there's no escalators. But there are a lot of stairs!

Sacha was really struggling with the steps and carrying the 23kg suitcase wasn't a lot of fun either.

It wasn't too far to walk to our hotel which is opposite a nice park.
We've got a pleasant room, but it's dissapointing there's no kettle (a very British complaint!)

We had a look at the town and bought huge ice creams using sign language - the first time I've come across someone without any English.

Back at the hotel in time for a meal in the restaurant - decent food at a fair price.

We're both extremely tired.
