Here's a catch up with yesterday and today.
We've been using the hop on hop off bus tour as a way to get around the very odd city that is Dresden.
When I say that Dresden is odd, I mean it's not like any other city I can relate to.
Yes, there are a lot of historic buildings in the centre - nearly all have been reconstructed since 1945. But also, because of the wartime destruction of the city there is a lot, and I mean a lot, of green space, open space and wide boulevards.
Where there are pre-war buildings they tend to be on the outskirts and tend to be huge estates or castles.
I really can't orientate myself here, and it's certainly not what I expected!
Yesterday we got the bus to the German Hygiene Museum - which wasn't as strange as it sounds.
It's a museum that's been going for nearly a century educating the public about all things to do with healthy living.
As a day out it's obviously very popular with families and there is a separate children's section.
I felt that it was an enjoyable (and tiring) visit but the displays were superficial with little opportunity to dig a little deeper.
We came away really tired, and I messed up by trying to see the miniature steam railway in the park next to the museum - which involved too much walking in the wrong direction and hanging about.
In the end I only got one lousy photo!
At this point I was sensing that something wasn't quite right. I had an itchy throat and a bit of a runny nose.
By bedtime this had developed into a full blown nasty head cold.
Overnight I tried to sweat it out and thumped the germs with paracetamol and fresh orange juice.
It didn't really work.
My ever-loving is seriously struggling with her joints and her breathing as well.
But - life goes on.
We dragged ourselves to the hop on/off bus stop for the second day.
We got off at the Blue Wonder Bridge - it's grey and it's a wonder it stays up - and found a lovely outdoor cafe where we had bratwurst & apflelsaftschorle for lunch while we watched the River Elbe flow past.
Tomorrow we leave The Valley of the Clueless (see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tal_der_Ahnungslosen ) at lunch time and head for Koblenz
