It was indeed a random thought, but I can do random!
We went to a lunchtime classical music concert at a church in Grasmere. It was a duo of a cellist and an organist. I'm sure they were very fine musicians, but it did feel like they were playing from different scores at times.
Of course the church pews were as uncomfortable as only church pews can be!
When we came out, once the hour was up, it was raining just as much as it was when we went in.
The ladies has already been in the Peter Rabbit shop so it was time to buy special Grasmere Gingerbread 🤷
While they were queuing and spending I wandered round the churchyard and found the grave of William Wordsworth, and had a look at the dead centre of Grasmere - which is currently dominated by a building site as a hotel is being refurbished.
Of course we had tea and cake!
Grasmere is a 50 minutes drive from where we were staying. So naturally when we got back it was time for a nap.
This evening we went for a last meal - in a pub in Grange.
The Commodore is a bit rough & ready but, my, the food was good!
The instructions for departure tomorrow are a bit contradictory - we've either got to be out by 9:30 or 10, and we've either got to leave the place locked up or not. So again..... 🤷
