And for today!
We got up on time and seemed to be super organised. We left the flat polished and tidy.
It was a bit of walk to the bus stop, but we got there just as the L034 coach was arriving. Thankfully someone who knew what she was doing showed me what to do with the case (open the underfloor compartment yourself and throw it in).
The coach took about 50 minutes to get to Marseille - arriving a little late because of the traffic.
The station was heaving. It seems there had been a problem on the main TGV line earlier and the mainline services were running between 30 & 90 minutes late.
I found a rough & ready cafe opposite the station to have a pannini lunch and a long sit down. Pleasant enough but very crowded and noisy.
Getting onto the train was the usual scramble - why on earth they leave the gate opening so late I'm sure I'll never know! It didn't help that the wind took my hat along the platform - but I did rescue it.
In the end, our train left on time, with only a small amount of drama about seats and coach numbers - it's a single deck TGV which probably helps.
The train is showing as being delayed by 10 minutes all the way past Lyon but that's not too shabby really.
We settled on a bag of crisps and a cup of hot chocolate from the cafe-bar to go with our cake we bought yesterday. Once again, the server at the bar was really friendly and helpful.
We are due to arrive in Lille at about 10 past 8 (French time) and the hotel is effectively attached to the station - so nothing complicated tonight.
