Yesterday was Saturday
We went to the Big Market in neighbouring Cattolica - we walked by way of the cash machine and along the port.
The market was huge. Lots of stalls selling cheap women's clothes (including €1 dresses if you had the patience to sort through the dross), and a few stalls with menswear. Of course there were toys, household goods, and, well, you name it.
Most of the food was separate from the main market, but there were a couple of stinky cheese vendors adding a bit of pungency to the proceedings.
I bought a nice leather belt to hold my shorts up and a couple of t-shirts. My travelling companion bought a rather fetching top.
After finding out about the dodge of having goods on display that you haven't actually got in stock to sell, we decided to have a sit, and a drink in the market greasy spoon cafe - where we bumped into the posh lady from our group and her husband. They offered to share a taxi back to the hotel; an offer gratefully received!
Later on we walked down the Very Steep Path to the public beach and someone (not me) paddled in the warm sea among the seaweed. We had a drink in the beach bar.
Back at the hotel I borrowed one of their free hire bicycles and whizzed down into Gabicce Mare to buy biscuits, had a bit of a potter round and then panted up the hill to return their machine.
Sunday
Well, it's only lunchtime and we've done .... not a lot.
We've both tried to do a drawing of the seascape from the hotel terrace, and we're deciding whether to sit here by the bar, or sit dozing on our balcony in our room.
Important decisions are very difficult
